For Las Patronas, giving our beneficiaries the help they so desperately need is our top priority.

For our potential applicants, the grant process begins with reviewing the
Las Patronas grant guidelines and completing an application. Applicants come to us from many sources: grant-writing workshops, referrals from our underwriters, news articles, or word-of-mouth between cooperating agencies. Many times, potential beneficiaries are encouraged to apply by Las Patronas members themselves.

During the application process, each nonprofit organization must supply
Las Patronas with supporting documents for its capital needs, including financial statements, proof of nonprofit status, the reason for the request and at least two bids for each capital item requested.

Once the grant submissions are complete, the Las Patronas Grants Committee conducts site visits with applicants that pass our initial screening process. As we interview the potential beneficiaries, we learn about their missions, the scope of their work, and the lives they touch. For many in Las Patronas, these visits are the highlight of being a member – and an opportunity to witness real-life miracles in everyday life.

Choosing a group of beneficiaries from so many worthy organizations is daunting. We find ourselves wishing we could fund every request, and this pushes us to work ever harder on their behalf.

Our beneficiaries are a constant inspiration as well as the driving force behind our year-long fundraising efforts that culminate with the annual presentation of the renowned Jewel Ball.

The deadline for spring grants is January 6, 2012. Please see the current application for specific submission deadlines and criteria for the current funding cycle.
In the spring grant cycle, minor grant beneficiaries receive up to $20,000.
